Description: Abeera Saeed is a senior at Yale University studying Ethics, Politics and Economics with a concentration in Behavioral Economics and Human Rights. Hailing from Jersey City, she is the cofounder of the ALI Leadership Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to training urban youth in low-income areas to become the activists, organizers, and grassroots leaders of tomorrow. She has worked with various local politicians and nonprofits, helping to manage a campaign that canvassed for the youngest Muslim official in America to be elected onto the school board of Jersey City. Abeera has also helped 30,000+ young people register to vote through DoSomething.org and has been honored on Insider NJ’s Top 100 Millennial Power List in 2020. She is a Yale Presidential Public Service Fellow and spends her free time in between classes tutoring refugees, volunteering with the Yale Alumni Association and watching Leonardo Dicaprio movies.
