Description: Amna Rustom is an incoming Master of Public Administration student at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Her field of study was inspired by the advocacy work that she engaged in during her undergraduate years. Through her experiences working with immigrant communities in Columbus, OH, and her community efforts in Cincinnati, OH, she has learned that the core of allyship comes in direct action and efforts to improve the lives of people around her. In the wake of the Black Lives Matter Movement in 2020, Amna and several other college students co-founded an organization called Cincinnati For Justice which has transformed into a mutual aid fund and hosts annual community events. She currently serves as a board member for the Ohio Women's Alliance and is excited at the opportunity to continue staying invested & connected to issues in her home state. Amna's goal is to use her studies to elevate her skills as a leader and as an advocate for marginalized groups.
