Description: Fatima Moien is attending Hofstra University’s The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication in the 2-year Master of Arts program in Journalism. In her first year, Moien was recognized by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation for the on-air talent category for “Live from Studio A with Shavone Charles." Moien is a writer and researcher for The Long Island Advocate and student board representative for the Asian American Journalist Association (AAJA) New York Chapter. Prior to Hofstra, Moien graduated from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Magna Cum Laude, with her bachelor's in Criminal Justice. Moien served as the editor-in-chief of The Sentinel, and was a college mentor for first and second years students in the ¡Adelante! Latinx Leadership program at the Student Academic Success Programs (SASP) at John Jay.
