Description: Hana Manadath is a student at American University, studying at International Relations and Film. Her upbringing as a daughter of immigrants galvanized her interests in South Asian/ME politics, freedom movements, postcolonialism, and refugees/IDPs. Having traveled extensively over the years, Hana has become passionate about working to uplift and celebrate stories of those whose voices are systemically overlooked in western media and politics. She is the founder of HFMPHOTOS, a DC based photography service, and has photographed influential figures such as Malala Yousafzai and Gabrielle Union. Most recently, Hana launched The Rev, a social justice, arts, and culture based blog that utilizes photography, film, and writing as mediums of creative expression. She is currently working as an intern at Al Jazeera English. In her free time, Hana enjoys sipping chai and hiking.
