Description: Samah Shaiq is a senior at the University of California Los Angeles. She is studying Political Science and hopes to go to graduate school to get a Masters Degree in Public Policy. She has completed internships in the offices of Governor Jerry Brown, Senator Dianne Feinstein, State Senator Jerry Hill, and has worked on the campaign for Kevin de Leon for U.S. Senate. She has also worked for the Council on American Islamic Relations California PAC. She aspires to help create laws that are fair to people of all races, religions, genders, income classes, and citizenship statuses. She hopes to use her work experiences to create a positive change for Muslims, and hopes to perhaps run for office one day.
