Description: Mussab Ali was the youngest elected official in Jersey City history who was elected when he was 20 years old. At 23, he served as the President of the Jersey City School Board addressing the needs of over 30,000 students, and overseeing an $800 million budget. In that role, he was prolific in uplifting the voices of marginalized communities that have led to a student-elected representative on the board of education, halal school lunches, dress code reform, and much more. He is attending Harvard Law School as a JD candidate with plans to graduate in 2023. Mussab graduated from Tsinghua University with a Master’s degree in Global Affairs as a Schwarzman Scholar Class of 2020 and Rutgers University, where he was named a Truman Scholar.
