Description: Ala Tineh is ISF’s 2021-22 Congressional Policy Fellow working in the Office of Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA-07). Prior to her fellowship, Ala began her career in management consulting at L.E.K. Consulting in Chicago, advising clients on their most pressing strategic challenges, and later joined The Bridgespan Group in New York, a leading social impact advisor to nonprofits, philanthropists, and investors. Born in Amman and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Ala graduated with honors from the University of Chicago, where she studied economics and statistics. As an undergraduate student, she served as President of the Muslim Students Association, a member of the Institute of Politics’ Student Advisory Board, and contributed to academic research in political science, health economics, and global health. Through these experiences, Ala developed a strong interest in addressing inequities in the American healthcare system by elevating the voices and lived experiences of communities of color.
