Description: Hamilton Parker Fairfield Cook was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota—home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States. Mr. Cook is currently pursuing an M.A. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University (the institution of his undergraduate tenure, where he majored in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies). His primary interests are in the field of Quranic studies, more specifically, Quranic exegesis. Mr. Cook hopes to continue his studies at the Ph.D. level and then work as a professor of religion or Islamic studies. He would like to do so with an aim to help create a space of scholarship and dialogue wherein the “Muslim voice” regarding the Quran, its history, and its commentary can fully “speak.”
