Description: Shaan Shaikh is a second-year MA candidate at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, concentrating in strategic studies and research methods. He is also an associate fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where he writes on weapons proliferation, arms control, air defense, and non-state actors. Prior to joining CSIS, Shaan worked at the U.S. Department of Defense and The Syria Institute. He holds a BA in international relations and Arabic from Tufts University. After graduating from SAIS, Shaan hopes to support good, lasting public policy via the U.S. government or research institutions.
