Description: 2020 Policy Scholar Valeria Trevino is currently pursuing her Master’s of Public Administration at the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. She previously completed her bachelor’s at the same university, with a major in Anthropology and minors in History and Global Security Studies. While an undergrad, Valeria focused on political and social anthropology, Middle Eastern studies, gender studies, and Islamic studies. She conducted research abroad in Morocco during her junior and senior year and developed a passion for social justice and human rights. Valeria works as the Texas Relational Organizing Director at United for Respect, after previously working as a Field Organizer for the Texas Democratic Party and an intern at the Museum of South Texas History.
