On campus, Zainab is a student-attorney with Harvard Defenders, the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project, and the Criminal Justice Institute. She graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Social Studies. Zainab wrote her undergraduate honors thesis on Muslim-Americans seeking political office. Before attending law school, Zainab worked for the City of New York as an Urban Fellow where she focused on city-wide criminal immigration policy. Zainab’s professional interests include indigent defense, national security, and community organizing. After graduation, Zainab will be clerking for Judge Lawrence Kahn in the Northern District of New York. In her spare time, Zainab enjoys reading and hiking with her husband.
