Description: Tasnim Motala is a civil and human rights attorney at the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Center at Howard University School of Law. Motala has represented men held in Guantanamo Bay, the U.S. military base in Bagram, Afghanistan, and men charged with terror-related offenses. Motala’s legal experience also includes criminal justice reform, prison reform, and international human rights.
